What Is Plantation Rum’s History

Alexandre Gabriel, the owner of Maison Ferrand (a top Cognac producer), started Plantation Rum in the 1990s. He traveled across the Caribbean, building connections with distilleries and picking out the best rums to highlight each region’s character.

Where Is Plantation Rum Made?

Plantation Rum sources its spirits from top distilleries across the Caribbean and Central America, then ships them to France for an exciting double-aging process. First, the rums mature in the warm tropical climate, soaking up all those rich flavors. 

After that, they finish aging in French oak Cognac casks at the Maison Ferrand estate in Cognac, adding another layer of depth and complexity.
