Orphan Barrel Whiskey distillery has a special mission: finding the rarest, the most exclusive and the ritziest barrels of Whiskey possible, scouring the backs of warehouses and distilleries for lost and forgotten stories. Such treasures are hand-bottled in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and handled with care. The thing is, once they're gone, they're gone eternally. The Rhetoric line of progressively aged Bourbons brings older, more opulent and limited expression each year.

The lavish 23-year-old Bourbon was released in 2017 and is the fourth edition of the Rhetoric. Like other bottlings, the 23YO was originally made at the old Bernheim Distillery and matured for some time at the Stiltzel-Weller Distillery warehouse. The precious potion's mash bill is 86% corn, 8% barley, and 6% rye. Bottled at 45.3% ABV, it's a bit stronger than the previous releases. New batches are coming out in the future and true Bourbon aficionados will be able to compare each year.

I love pretty much all of the ...

I love pretty much all of the Rhetoric series that I've been able to taste. Really wish I could something similar. It is polarizing though usually highly rated. Some people find it too much oak. I like that though.
