Psychoanalyst enters a bar and the bartender says, "What's your poison?" The shrink says it's Scotch, but then the boy meets a girl and she says, "Why don't you try Bourbon instead?" And the boy, whom we shall call Kaveh Zamanian for time being, fell in love twice: with the girl called Heather, and with Bourbon. They pulled him down the rabbit hole of passion, beauty and elegance, so Kaveh settled down in Louisville, KY, and founded Rabbit Hole.

Joining the exciting renaissance of Bourbon, Kaveh decided to carve his vision into the landscape of the quintessentially American booze, picking the best talent and gear on his way. Behold (with your jaw dropped), he has created an opulent Straight Bourbon Whiskey that's taking awards left and right. Named simply Rabbit Hole Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is mature and no-rubbish Spirit with 95 proof and some spice to it. And the secret? Some of it is definitely the rare grain bill: 70% corn, 10% malted barley, 10% honey malted barley and 10% malted wheat. What you get is an exceptionally sweet and rich Bourbon.

Appearance / Color
Amber.

Nose / Aroma / Smell
Young and hot aromas of orange, honey and mint, followed by almond cookies and toasted rye. Rich and sweet, slightly herbaceous.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Creamy flavors of orange, honey and mint with hints of toasted grain, followed by ginger and black pepper. A touch of maple syrup and a whisper of smoke.

Finish
Hot finish with orange and almond aftertaste, and a trail of honey and cinnamon.

First glass....

I always try to give every new bottle the benefit of a doubt. I don't like giving negative reviews because my palate is different from others.
So....almonds ..... yes.... I smelled almonds or Walnuts right from the off. Finish...same. I am not a fan of anything nuts or peanut butter when it comes to my spirit....Screwball can screw off. But for those that like a moderate almond/walnut bourbon then you have found your "Olympus"!

Just not a fan of orange in my bourbon

love to try new bourbons and trying to guess the flavor profile. This was so close for me, many notes I love but there was just something off [for MY palate] that I realized this is a 1 and done purchase. Then I looked at the flavor wheel - and there it is: orange, and just a little too much of it. I’m ok with hints of fruit but it was a touch too much. So close to fantastic but it’s just ok for my palate.

Great bourbon. Pepper, honey, sweet on the nose. Great palate, rye, pepper a hint of orange. Good finish.

Sweet and chocolaty on the nose. Not too much heat; albeit for a 95 proof bourbon. Give it a bit of a swirl in the glass, and you’ll unlock that honey and smoke taste. Very smooth.
Highly recommend.
