Exquisite Single Barrel

Flaviar's done a lot of Wilderness Trail content lately, and it was a joy to dive into the mind of their dynamic, PhD-holding master distiller, Dr. Pat Heist. While I consider myself more of a Bourbon guy, I decided to buy both barrel picks, and was blown away by the flavors they were able to tease out of this 55% Rye / 33% Corn / 11% Malt mashbill. Big blast of rich dried fruit, sweet grain, pastry dough, and an herbal zip that finishes long into pleasantly spicy oak. 5 stars.
