The Wiseman Bourbon is the first release from master blender John Rhea under the Kentucky Owl banner. A Double Gold Medal winner at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this blend of four straight Bourbons is as much a phoenix rise story as it is flavor aglow—caramel, allspice, citrus, and oak. Great Bourbon for beginners

I'm still trying to get my palate trained for some of the higher proof whiskeys, so the lower ABV on this one was perfect for me personally - mild and silky, with a slightly sweet warmth. Highly enjoyable and very affordable!

Hidden gem - great quality for price

I was expecting much less, given the somewhat lower price vs. others I have bought on the site. Fantastic little bourbon, extremely smooth and punching way above its weight. Much better than bottles I've paid double or triple for. Highly recommend, especially for people looking to discover Bourbon. Perhaps some of the more seasoned Whiskey drinkers will gravitate towards higher proofs, but I found The Wiseman Bourbon to be versatile enough for my preferences, and especially excellent in an Old Fashioned.

Surprise

Wasn’t expecting to line this. Light, yellow-gold color. Faint aroma of candy. First sip was oak and cream. Toasty and very good.

Okay; not overly complex

A decent bourbon but not especially rememberable. Probably a good intro bourbon for someone new to the spirit as it is fairly mild and smooth/silky. I picked up citrus on the nose straight away along with with a bit of charr and sweetness. The pallet was quite smooth, almost to much so for my taste, and I picked up more oak, a bit of orange and slight spice. The finish was short and nothing too spectacular.

Not bad, but not one I would buy for myself. It did not have a lot of depth or flavor complexity.
